Locate
The Locate tool allows map navigation to a
specific street coordinate
location, address
or street intersection. This function is also referred
to as geocoding. When a location is found, the map display will zoom
to the location and display a label point on the map.
To locate an coordinate or address on a map:
In the Console,
display the
Locate
item, if necessary, by
clicking the down arrow for Contents
.

To find an X,Y location on the map
- Select the units to use from the drop down list.
- Enter the the X and Y coordinates into the appropriate text boxes.
- To enter a coordinate using degrees, minutes and seconds, place a ":" character
between each number. Example: 36:42:28.047
- Press the Find XY button
- The map will zoom to the location and add a label for the XY coordinates.
To find an Address
- Select the geocoding service to use from the drop down list. If the selected
geocoding service requires a zone, such as a zip code or city, an additional input
box will appear on the form.
- Enter the address or intersection in the text box.
- Use the '@' between street names to denote an intersection.
- Press the Find button
- If a single result is found, the map will zoom to the location and add a label.
- If multiple results are found, the matched address will appear in a list below.
- Click the "+" symbol to open the result details or right-click the address to open
the context menu.
- Click the "Label and Zoom to Location" to display the result on the map.
